Jakarta – The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Police, Inspector General of Police Firman Shantyabudi stated that part of the income from the non-tax state revenue (PNBP) of the Police Traffic Corps was used to support operations. For example, such as supporting the operations of the law enforcement sector alias takkum in the form of a ticket fine.
Data from the Korlantas Polri, said Inspector General Pol Firman, clearly shows that since the ETLE system was first implemented in Indonesia in March 2021 until last year, there have been more than four million violations that have been successfully prosecuted with a fine of more than IDR 491 billion.
“So far, the public knows that the ticket funds go to the police. We are trying to utilize the ticket funds through the Minister of Finance, we are focusing on incentives and adding traffic law enforcement tools,” he said during a hearing with Commission III of the DPR RI, some time ago.
The incentive in question, continued Inspector General Pol Firman, is given to officers who are willing to take part in vocational education and obtain certificates to carry out fines on the highway.
“Now those who are allowed to carry out traffic tickets are certified investigators. The logical consequence is yes, you will get incentives later. So, not all members on the street are equipped with a ticket,” he explained.
Furthermore, Inspector General Pol Firman also admitted that there were several police officers who wanted to work on the road but were reluctant to take part in the Dikjur to obtain certificates.
“There are our members who are lazy to join the Dikjur, we don’t give them a ticket. Usually, they just want to be on the road. We said, if there must be certain certifications and qualifications then he will be given a ticket,” said the two-star general who owns the Scorpio zodiac. Bembo
