Jakarta – Officers from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya brought the Rihana-Rihani twins, suspected iPhone reseller scams, to their rented house in Greenwood Housing Complex, East Ciputat, South Tangerang, Wednesday, (5/7).
They were brought in to show a number of items purchased from fraud as evidence.
“We came to look for evidence of the proceeds of Rihana and Rihani’s crime,” said Head of Unit 4 of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Reza Mahendra, to the media crew.
He said again, the purpose of going to the rented house was to look for belongings of Rihana and Rihani which were secured by the RT and RW administrators in June 2022. The reason is, at that time the twins ran away from the rented house in Greenwood Housing due to being visited by many reseller victims.
“When the suspect was visited by the reseller, they ran away from their house in the East Ciputat area. The goods were secured by the local RW. That is the result of the statement of the suspect RA (Rihana),” said Kompol Reza.
Meanwhile, Kompol Reza continued, the police found Rihana and Rihani’s personal belongings, namely sofas, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, cupboards, and others.
“While the items found are still in the context of personal interest, namely sofas, cupboards, and others,” he said. Furthermore, investigators will continue to search the M Town Apartment, Gading Serpong, Tangerang Regency, where the two suspects were arrested. The one at the M Town Apartment at night, yes,” he explained again.
Separately, Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi said, the suspects Rihana and Rihani changed residence four times during their escape.
“The first they contracted in the Greenwoods area, in South Tangerang,” said Kombes Pol Hengki.
Then, they moved again to an apartment, in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta and moved again to an apartment in the Gandaria area, South Jakarta.
