Cikarang – Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) of Korlantas Polri Brigjen Pol Raden Slamet Santoso together with the Head of Operations of Korlantas Polri Kombes Pol Eddy Djunaedi accompanying the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy inspecting the Command Center of PJR Korlantas Polri KM 29, on Monday, (25/12).
Menko PMK Muhadjir Effendy monitors directly via connected CCTV the traffic flow on arterial roads and toll roads.
“This morning I visited the KM 29 Command Center. From Korlantas Polri, traffic conditions were smooth and there were no problems. There is indeed an increase compared to last Christmas but it can still be overcome,” said Menko PMK Muhadjir Effendy.
He also said, that there were vehicles breaking down on the road so drivers needed special attention before traveling.
“So yesterday, December 23 2023, Jakarta-Cikampek saw 39 vehicles break down starting from lack of fuel, broken axles and flat tires. Meanwhile in MBZ there are 14 (vehicles) and this did not happen last year,” explained the Menko PMK.
For this reason, he appealed to motorists who are traveling safely to check properly and ensure that the vehicle is in prime condition.
“Really check the condition of the tires, fuel, engine, everything is checked properly. Don’t let there be any distractions. For example, if one vehicle breaks down, we can calculate the queue within one hour and the car behind it will not be able to pass. Especially if it is in a contraflow position,” he said.
Furthermore, the Menko PMK also said that currently the Korlantas Polri has started to direct its attention to the tourist destinations that will be visited.
Therefore, we urge people who are going to tourist destinations to choose quiet destinations so that they are comfortable at the tourist destination.
“Based on monitoring from Korlantas, the route to the top is increasingly congested. Likewise with the Ancol area. Meanwhile, Ragunan is still relatively quiet. I suggest that you go on a tour to Ragunan first, not to Ancol because Ancol is starting to get crowded and it might not be comfortable as a tourist attraction,” said the Menko PMK at the end of his statement.
