Jakarta – The Cyber Sub-Directorate of Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya is hunting for perpetrators of hotline complaint fraud on behalf of Polda Metro Jaya.
This case was uncovered after circulating on social media. In the fake hotline, the public is directed to make complaints online through the number 081271195826
“There is a mode of fraud through electronic media on behalf of the Polda Metro Jaya hotline post. It’s fake,” said Head of Sub-Directorate of Cybercrime Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Ardian Satrio Utomo told reporters, Tuesday, (11/7).
“The Polda Metro Jaya online complaint hotline for receiving public complaints is only one number, namely 082177606060. There are no other numbers,” he stressed again.
He said that there were people who had complained about contacting the fake hotline complaint number. Then the resident was asked to pay some money.
“The reporter reported a complaint to us that the person had reported to a fake hotline. However, they were asked to pay a sum of money,” he said.
AKBP Ardian further appealed to the public to be careful of the fraudulent mode of online complaints on behalf of Polda Metro Jaya.
“We urge the public to be careful and double check accounts that are suspected of not being valid,” he said.
