Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto stated that the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate had destroyed drug evidence from case disclosures during the period July to September 2023.
It is said that during that time period there were 1,548 cases that were successfully dismantled. The destruction of evidence from all these cases is a follow-up to President Joko Widodo’s direction in eradicating drug trafficking in Indonesia, especially in the Jakarta area.
“The evidence that was confiscated and destroyed was 279.44 kg of methamphetamine, 200.67 kg of marijuana and 60,800 ecstasy pills,” said Kapolda Karyoto, Wednesday, (11/10).
“Today is the result of hard work and enthusiasm from the Narcotics Directorate and staff. “We are committed to returning to success in fighting and distributing drugs in society,” he continued.
Also explained by Kapolda Karyoto, the circulation of narcotics has been very detrimental to Indonesia. Therefore, Polda Metro Jaya continues to be committed to continuing to eradicate narcotics abuse.
“Obviously this will be very detrimental to generations and the economy. “Tens of billions are wasted, not building health but actually destroying health,” said Kapolda Karyoto.
On the same occasion, Director of Narcotics at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Hengki, added that from the disclosure of 1,548 cases, 2,053 suspects were named.
He also said that drug destruction activities were carried out based on Law Number 35 of 2009. The destruction was a form of transparency in the performance of the National Police.
“So that the public knows that the drug evidence that was confiscated by officers was completely destroyed, which in turn will increase public trust in the Police,” he concluded. Bembo
