Jakarta – The drug courier with the initials RB (38) who was arrested by Unit 2 Subdit III of the Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police in Depok was promised a wage or fee of up to Rp50 million per kilogram of methamphetamine.
The suspect’s mode of methamphetamine distribution was to disguise it with American-made coffee packets and put it in a cart on the side of the road.
“The suspect’s job is self-employed. The promised wage can be an average of Rp25-30 million, even Rp50 million per kilogram if successful. The controller (which promises). RB is a carrier courier and so on,” explained Dirresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Hengki at Polda Metro Jaya , Monday, (17/7).
It was reported that the suspect was driving the methamphetamine in a car. After arriving at the agreed location point, the suspect placed some of the methamphetamine on the side of the road for the orderer to pick up. Crystal methamphetamine is stored in a cart covered with used goods.
“Put it somewhere, in the field and collect it. RB put it on the side of the road in carts of five packs. Later another courier will take the five kilograms, (but) don’t rush it because we will immediately secure it,” he explained.
“Just put it in a cart with a plastic cover like used goods, like trash,” he continued.
According to Kombes Pol Hengki, nowadays drug networks are considered to be more slippery because it is easy to change the modus operandi to try to trick the police.
“So all (modes) change, including delivery methods. In the past, they were brought directly, now many are transported by services, both air and sea,” explained the officer who graduated from the 1995 Patria Tama Battalion, Police Academy, which is under the umbrella of the Capricorn zodiac.
