Jakarta – The Indonesian Bakamla Policy Directorate held a Consignment Meeting for the Final Draft of Policy Recommendations for Increasing Community Participation in the Implementation of Security, Safety and Law Enforcement (KKPH) in Indonesian Water Areas and Indonesian Jurisdictional Areas
in the Ary Hasibuan Hall, Bakamla RI Headquarters, Wednesday, (15/11). The meeting was opened by Deputy for Policy and Strategy (Jakstra) Bakamla RI Laksda Bakamla Dr. Gregory the Great W.D.
In his presentation, Indonesian Bakamla Middle Expert Policy Analyst Colonel Bakamla Gontri Nopel explained that there were 5 policies agreed upon at this meeting. The first is development policy. Then there are capability development policies, regulatory policies, budget policies, and finally supervision policies.
This meeting itself was held on the basis of Indonesia’s enormous maritime potential, as well as the potential threats to maritime security and safety which continue to increase. Not only that. Seeing the increasing number of fishermen and the large number of community groups fostered by Ministries/Agencies, this could be a potential that can increase the effectiveness of law enforcement at sea. Therefore, looking at this potential, there needs to be a policy that supports community participation in the implementation of this KKPH.
This meeting also involved several universities, related ministries/institutions, as well as several regional government parties. The meeting closed with remarks from the Head of Bakamla RI Laksdya TNI Dr. Irvansyah, which was read by the Deputy Prosecutor for Bakamla RI.
In his remarks, the Head of Bakamla RI expressed his thanks to all the speakers, experts, participants and drafting team for the discussions and questions and answers during the consignment meeting. The meeting also produced a policy recommendation as a reference for the strategic plan of the relevant Ministries/Agencies in an effort to create a comprehensive, effective and efficient security, safety and law enforcement situation at sea.
