Jakarta – Mahendra Dito Sampurna is a suspect on the wanted list (DPO) in a case of alleged possession of various types of illegal firearms. When his whereabouts are unknown and the police are still hunting for him, another issue arose that the guns in Dito’s hands belonged to a middle-ranking officer (Pamen) at Polda Metro Jaya.
Responding to this issue, the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi stated that he had not received official information.
“I have received no information (Dito’s firearm is suspected to belong to Pamen Polda Metro),” he said briefly to journalists, Friday, (18/8) yesterday.
He was also reluctant to talk much about this because the case was already being handled by the Dittipidum Bareskrim Polri.
“I have no competence to answer that. Headquarters [is in charge],” he said again.
The Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Pol Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro, also stated the same response. When the issue was confirmed, he also admitted that he had not received official information.
“We have not received such a thing from investigators,” said Police Brigadier General Djuhandani, last Wednesday, (16/8).
However, he continued to emphasize that his party was still hunting for and tracing the whereabouts of Dito, who was not yet known.
“While we are still looking for it, and we are continuing to coordinate, both with immigration. Then we are also assisted by officials who have helped us by issuing DPOs,” he explained.
Dito’s case began when the KPK searched his house in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta, in a case of alleged corruption. However, during the search, KPK investigators found 15 firearms of various types.
The firearm was then handed over to the National Police for examination. From the results of the interim investigation, 9 of the 15 firearms found did not have permits or were illegal.
Based on these findings, Dito has now been named a suspect. He was charged with Article 1 Paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 concerning possession of illegal firearms. Bembo
