Jakarta – The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya implements the obligation to have a driving certificate as a condition for making a driving license (SIM).
This step follows Perpol Number 2 of 2023 concerning Issuance and Marking of Driving Permits signed by the National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
This rule clearly states the conditions for the validity of a driving certificate for motorists who wish to apply for a SIM. Evidence of this certificate is to show that the candidate for the SIM maker is proficient in driving.
“We have implemented it too, of course,” said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Latif Usman, to journalists, Tuesday, (20/6).
“The certification proves that he has learned, that he already has expertise,” he continued.
In making the SIM that has been done, said Kombes Pol Latif, it was only a temporary test. Even so, the driver is an expert or not must be proven through the certification.
“The driving certificate is to prove that he has indeed studied through a driving school. So the driving certificate is issued,” he explained.
“It is mandatory to include that (certificate). Of course we have the name ISDC (Indonesia Safety Driving Centre). We have prepared it like in Serpong to conduct the training. We recommend this training,” he continued ending the statement. Bembo
