Jakarta – Attack by inactive KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to the Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto with 4.5mm caliber ‘ammunition’ at the pre-trial hearing in response to a ‘deadly’ counter attack.
With 60mm caliber mortar-style ‘ammunition’, Polda Metro Jaya in turn counterattacked and stripped Firli ‘naked’ with evidence of meetings, handovers, receipts and money transactions between suspect Firli Bahuri and former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
This evidence was clearly explained by Polda Metro Jaya in the pre-trial follow-up hearing to determine the suspect, Firli Bahuri, at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel), Tuesday, (12/12).
The Polda Metro Jaya legal team said that Firli as chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission received more than Rp7.5 billion. Meanwhile, the meeting between Firli and SYL took place at the house on Jalan Kertanegara Number 46 Kebayoran Baru, in South Jakarta (Jaksel). This meeting resulted in the giving and receiving of a wad of money worth Rp800 million for Firli.
Kabidkum Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Putu Putra Sadana, in his response to the pre-trial application submitted by Firli’s team of lawyers, explained that the meeting at Kertanegara 46 took place on February 12 2021. The meeting took place when Firli was still chairman of the KPK and SYL was Minister of Agriculture.
That meeting, said Kombes Pol Putu Putra,
This is related to the process of investigating alleged corruption in cattle procurement and collection of money for promotions carried out by the KPK within the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).
The meeting between Firli and SYL also involved two active police officers who currently serve as the Director General of Intellectual Property Rights, Ministry of Law and Human Rights and Semarang Police, Central Java (Central Java).
“Initially the applicant (Firli Bahuri) contacted Brother Anom Wibowo to convey a message to Brother Irwan Anwar to contact him,” said Kombes Pol Putu Putra.
Next, Irwan, who now serves as Kapolrestabes Semarang, contacted Firli by telephone. From their conversation, Firli ordered Irwan to meet SYL directly. Firli also asked Irwan to tell SYL to meet him immediately.
“After Irwan Anwar contacted the applicant (Firli), the applicant essentially said that Irwan Anwar should meet with SYL to meet and greet the applicant,” explained Kombes Pol Putu Putra.
The meeting, he continued, was realized on February 12 2021 where Irwan brought SYL to meet at the place Firli had determined.
“On February 12 2021 there was a meeting at the house or safe house located at Jalan Kertanegara Number 46 RT 10/RW 03, Rawa Barat Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta Province between SYL, brother Irwan Anwar and the applicant ( Firli). And during that meeting there was a transaction (giving and receiving) amounting to Rp800 million in foreign currency,” explained Kombes Pol Putu Putra.
This transaction was part of the continuation of the receipts that Firli enjoyed from SYL, which at that time was the object of a corruption investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission. Meetings for transactions for handing over and receiving money continued.
The Polda Metro Jaya legal team also revealed that Firli’s aides carried out foreign exchange transactions through money changer outlets.
Then it was also stated that, from February 16 to April 17 2021, investigators also obtained evidence of foreign exchange transactions worth Rp616 million carried out by Gerardus Edward Pranggodi, as Firli’s head of security when he was chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee. On May 23 2021, SYL and Irwan Anwar returned to meet Firli at a private house in the Gardenia Villa Galaxy Complex, Bekasi, West Java (West Java).
“However, during the meeting no financial transactions took place,” Kombes Pol Putu Putra said.
On May 30 2021, he continued, investigators again found evidence of foreign currency exchange totaling Rp272.5 million carried out by Kevin Egananta Joshua as Firli’s personal aide. Investigators also found data evidence that in the period 6 or 13 June 2021 there was a follow-up meeting held by Irwan Anwar with Muhammad Hatta as Director of Fertilizers and Pesticides at the Ministry of Agriculture.
“During the meeting, Muhammad Hatta handed over Rp1 billion in foreign currency denominations in a white envelope which was put in a red folder to Irwan Anwar,” Kombes Pol Putu Putra continued.
And on that day, furthermore, authentic evidence was also revealed that Irwan Anwar met Firli at a house in the PTIK South Jakarta tennis court area. “At that time Irwan Anwar handed over a bag containing money to the applicant (Firli),” he said.
Investigators also have evidence of foreign currency exchange 26 times from June 19 to December 19 2021 with a value of Rp3.13 billion. The perpetrators of this exchange were Kevin Egananta Joshua, Gerardus Edward Pranggodi, and Hendra Joshua, as well as Firli’s aides and bodyguards.
Evidence also revealed that SYL data returned to meet and meet Firli at the Tangki Sports Arena (GOR), in Tamansari, West Jakarta (Jakbar) on March 2 2022.
During this meeting, data and evidence show that there was a handover of foreign denominations worth Rp1 billion which were put in a black bag. Hendra Joshua received the black bag containing the money and handed it over to Firli.
On March 6 to 8, Firli’s aide, Kevin Egananta, again carried out foreign exchange transactions worth Rp212 million. Then in May 2022, Irwan Anwar again met Firli Bahuri at his private home in Villa Galaxy, Bekasi to hand over Rp1 billion in foreign denominations.
In the period from May 15 2022 to September 10 2023, investigators also succeeded in detecting 46 foreign exchange transactions totaling Rp3.48 billion carried out by Firli’s aides.
Long story short, in all the series of transfers, receipts and foreign exchange transactions, Firli as chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) tried hard to stop the process of investigating alleged corruption within the Ministry of Agriculture.
Firli is also said to have made a disposition so that the investigation into alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture does not continue. And the story was ultimately not continued. Replaced with a new story about Firli as a suspect in an alleged corruption case in the form of extortion and receiving gratuities, gifts or promises.
Firli accepted Article 12e or Article 12B or Article 11 of Law 31/1999, in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. However, investigators are still being favored at this time by being given the freedom to roam. But believe me, this Firli divoor episode was only made until the pre-trial hearing was completed. The new episode about Firli’s life behind bars is ready to be released as a sequel. Bembo
