Jakarta – As a result of being addicted to methamphetamine, a widower with two son was determined to commit a criminal act of theft using the mode of breaking car windows.
The widower named Arif Hidayat (40) was arrested by the Tambora Police on Wednesday, (19/7). Arif was arrested based on the results of a police investigation after reports of the theft of a chain of car glass breaking modes to the police. Most of the cars that were targeted were those parked on public streets.
“The perpetrator used a special glass-breaking tool to damage the victim’s car glass before taking away all the items in the car,” said the Tambora Police Chief, Kompol Putra Pratama to the media crew, Sunday, (23/7).
In the last case, continued Kompol Putra, the suspect Arif took action only 10 minutes to destroy the victim’s belongings stored in the car. As a result of this action the victim lost up to tens of millions of rupiah.
Kompol Arif said again, that the suspect Arif actually acted alone. There is one friend named Nurman Julianto. Nurman played the role of executor and is now on the wanted list (DPO) and is being hunted by the authorities. While Arif himself acts as a jockey and oversees the environment.
“The suspect Arif Hidayat admitted to having committed three thefts by breaking the glass of a car. Two of them occurred in the Bandengan area targeting a black Toyota Fortuner and a black Toyota Alphard. One incident occurred on Jalan KH. Mansyur, Tanah Sereal, Tambora,” explained the officer who graduated from the 2008 Battalion Parahita Raksaka Police Academy.
He said again, the stolen goods were sold by the suspect Arif via social media. He used the money from the sale to buy methamphetamine.
“The suspect’s urine test result was also positive for methamphetamine,” he said. Bembo
