Jakarta – Indonesian Deputy Minister of Defense (Wamenhan) M. Herindra received the 2023 Public Information Openness (KIP) award in the Vice Presidential Palace Hall, Jakarta, Tuesday, (19/12). The presentation of this award was also witnessed directly by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
The achievements achieved by the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) this year are a repeat of similar successes in 2022. This is proof of the Ministry of Defense’s commitment to carrying out the mandate of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information.
Deputy Minister of Defense M. Herindra directly received the KIP award in the Ministry category from the Chairman of the Central Information Commission Donny Yoesgiantoro.
In his address, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin emphasized that the number of public bodies holding the informative title had increased significantly. If in 2018 only 15 public bodies were classified as informative, in 2023 the number will jump to 139.
“I view KIP as an essential element in realizing good governance, and also one of the determinants of the success of bureaucratic reform programs,” said the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in his speech.
Also present to witness the KIP award ceremony were the Ministers of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet, Heads of State Institutions, Non-Ministerial Government Institutions and Non-Structural Institutions, the Governor and Deputy Governor, the Chairman of the Central Information Commission and his staff, as well as the recipients of the 2023 Public Information Openness Award.
