Jakarta – India, China, Malaysia and Singapore are several Asian countries that are recipients of kidney organ donors committed by a human trafficking syndicate (TPPO) in Cambodia.
Meanwhile, the sale of one kidney organ is valued at Rp200 million. But the victims only received Rp135 million. While the remaining Rp65 million will be the wages of the perpetrators.
“Indonesian syndicates receive payments of Rp200 million. Donors pay Rp135 million, syndicates receive Rp65 million per person. Deducted from the operational costs of making passports, then taking transportation from the airport to the hospital and so on,” explained the Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi to the media crew, Thursday, (20/7).
“Meanwhile, according to the information from donors or recipients from abroad, India, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and so on,” he continued.
In the same place, Kabidokkes Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Hery Wijatmoko, said that as many as 122 Indonesian citizens (WNI) became victims of the trafficking syndicate of selling kidney organs. He said the Police would accompany the victims.
“What was conveyed by 122 (victims) we will provide assistance to all these patients,” said Kombes Pol Hery.
He also said that Bidokkes Polda Metro Jaya together with Said Sukanto Hospital (Polri Hospital) had formed a team to deal with victims of kidney sales. He said the National Police would assist, rehabilitate and provide health services to the victims of TPPO.
Currently, he continued, there have been six victims of kidney sales who have undergone a complete medical examination. The medical examination includes laboratory tests, chest x-rays, and abdominal CT scans.
