Jakarta – Traffic jams on Jalan Gatot Subroto in front of Polda Metro Jaya are a common sight. Every day there is always a traffic jam. In the morning on weekdays traffic jams start to snak from 08.00 – 11.00 WIB. While in the afternoon from 16.00 – 20.00 WIB.
The general chairman of the non-governmental organization People’s Communication Forum for Transparency (LSM FORSI), Berman Nainggolan, regrets the sight of days like these. He considers that the severe traffic jams every day before Polda Metro Jaya are proof of the incompetence of the leadership of the Polda Metro Ditlantas and their ranks.
“The Metro Police is the warehouse for the police. But why is there always such a bad traffic jam in front of Polda Metro. And it’s always difficult to unravel. Even turning to the Semanggi Interchange, it’s hard to beg for mercy when it’s traffic jam,” said the man who also serves on the PWI Jaya Honorary Board.
According to him, for the scale of the DKI Jakarta area, traffic jams are actually commonplace. The high volume of vehicles in the capital city cannot be matched by an adequate number of roads. Even so, he continued, this logical and scientific alibi still cannot be a trick for the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate on this matter.
“There are hundreds of traffic police at Polda Metro Jaya. But it seems that there are less than 10 people assigned to manage and break down traffic jams in front of Polda Metro to the Semanggi Interchange,” said Berman.
