Jakarta – Over time, public trust in the Polri institution has begun to be boosted again with the positive trend of increasing public trust. This was recorded in the results of the Indonesian Political Indicator Survey which increased public confidence by 73.2%, on 11-17 April 2023.
In fact, the results of the indicators that have been released have succeeded in bringing the institution led by the Kapolri, General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to gain public trust over the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Kapolri, Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, in taking action against members who violate it.
“The point is that seeing the police chief’s firmness towards the violators, of course, will certainly make the public trust the police,” Edi told reporters some time ago.
In the past few months, public trust in the Polri institution has declined due to the cases of Ferdy Sambo and Teddy Minahasa. Followed by a number of violations of other members who also caught the attention.
One of them was the dishonorable dismissal (PTDH) for the act of omission by AKBP Achirudin, the pamen of the North Sumatra Regional Police which led to the abuse of his son by his friend.
“In the Polri institution, we see that there is no voting. Those who violate are given strict sanctions. The Polri does not look at rank. Even from non-commissioned officers to generals, they are also processed and dismissed without mercy,” said Edi.
Therefore, he saw the representation of the Police’s firmness in taking action against members who violated it, as the Kapolri seriousness in changing and improving institutions.
“The Kapolri shows it to the public. The Kapolri is serious about changing. The Kapolri is serious about proving his commitment. The Kapolri wants the Polri to be better,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the latest findings from the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) state the results of the level of public trust in law enforcement agencies, especially the police. As a result, as many as 34.4 percent of the public stated that the condition of law enforcement was good.
“So the enforcement conditions in early April were positive,” said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan in an online survey release last April.
The top position is occupied by the TNI with 91 percent, followed by the President with 84 percent.
“There has been an increase in policing from 61 percent to 63 percent,” said Djayadi.
In the same finding, according to Djayadi, the level of public trust in the DPR is around 52 percent. Meanwhile for political parties, the figure is getting smaller, namely around 50 percent.
“Overall, the DPR and political parties are the lowest,” he said.
The LSI survey was conducted from March 31 to April 4 2023, placing 1,229 respondents by telephone, and the confidence level was 95 percent. While the margin of error is 2.9 percent. Bembo
