Jakarta – Head of Operation (Kaops) Nusantara Cooling System (NCS) Polri, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri and his staff visited the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board KH Yahya Cholil Staquf at the PBNU Office, Jalan Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, (28/11) afternoon .
This gathering discussed the security situation during the 2024 election phase, where today is the first day of the campaign phase.
“Alhamdulillah, we just received a visit from the National Police Headquarters which is tasked with maintaining peace and tranquility in society and is led by Mr. Asep,” said Gus Yahya.
“I am very grateful that currently the situation is very conducive in society. This means that the strategy of the authorities, including the efforts of the National Police through Operation Nusantara Cooling System (NCS), has been quite successful in cooling the atmosphere ahead of the 2024 elections,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri in his statement expressed his gratitude for the assessment and support provided by Gus Yahya. He hopes that support and cooperation between the Polri and NU residents will continue to be maintained to maintain national unity and integrity so that the 2024 elections will run safely and peacefully.
“Not only for NU residents, of course this hope. But also for all Indonesian people so that they can maintain peace, unity and integrity ahead of the democratic party,” Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri said.
After leaving the PBNU Office, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri and his staff also visited the Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque, KH Nasarudin Umar, at the Istiqlal Mosque.
Similar to the visit to Gus Yahya, to KH Nasaruddin Umar he also expressed hope, support and cooperation from the Indonesian people to maintain national unity and integrity so that the 2024 elections will run safely and peacefully.
Responding to this, KH Nasaruddin Umar immediately called on the public, especially Muslims, to enjoy the atmosphere of this election cheerfully. Meanwhile, for the three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, continued KH Nasaruddin Umar, it is hoped that they will be able to compete objectively and positively. And he also hopes that there will be no issues of primordialism and race, let alone involving identity politics.
