Jakarta – The Interim Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Nawawi Pomolango, has denied the contents of the replica or answers to the pre-trial hearing of the inactive KPK chairman, Firli Bahuri. In the reply, Firli said that Nawawi Pomolango received threats from the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto.
“I emphasize that the contents of Firli Bahuri’s replica which states that the Kapolda Metro once came to me and threatened to suspect the leadership is not true at all. It is slander and I have to straighten it out,” said Nawawi, last Wednesday, (13/12).
He admitted that he had indeed been visited by Irjen Pol Karyoto after being appointed as Kapolda Metro Jaya. However, the meeting was only limited to keeping in touch.
“It’s true, Pak Karyoto once came to chat with me just to chat with me after he became Kapolda. But there was no discussion as contained in the Replik. That was slander from Pak Firli,” emphasized Nawawi again.
As is known, on the agenda for the replica of the pretrial hearing which took place last Tuesday, (12/12), Firli Bahuri said that Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto had intervened in the alleged corruption case at the Director General of Railways (DJKA) at the Ministry of Transportation.
“On August 21 2023, the Kapolda Metro Jaya came to Nawawi Pomolango and conveyed the words: “…don’t suspect Suryo. If Suryo is suspected, then the Chairman will be suspected”.
