Jakarta – The Polres Metro Jakarta Timur held a Coffee Morning event at the 6th floor Hall of the East Jakarta Police Headquarters, Friday, (21/7). This activity in the context of creating a safe and peaceful situation for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) was attended by all stakeholders starting from Forkopimko, Bawaslu, KPUD, leaders of political parties, religious leaders and East Jakarta community leaders.
Kapolres Metro Jakarta Timur, Kombes Pol Leonardus Simarmata in his remarks said that the implementation of this activity was a gathering place to get to know each other better between political party leaders, religious leaders and East Jakarta community leaders.
“I hope that each political party can get to know each other better so that the 2019 incident does not happen again in the 2024 election. I deliberately invited all my colleagues to be here as an initial step in preparing everything so that I can minimize any problems that may arise later,” said Kombes Pol Leonardus.
He also said that all levels of the Polres Metro Jakarta Timur would fully support and assist the election organizers, in this case the KPU and Bawaslu in carrying out their duties.
“Regarding security, we will take strict action according to existing regulations. This is a form of our support for the KPU and Bawaslu to realize safe, peaceful and controlled elections,” explained the officer who owns the Gemini zodiac from the 1997 Wira Pratama Battalion of the Police Academy.
Chairman of the East Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU), Teddy Kurnia also expressed his belief that today’s event would bring peace and harmony. This condition needs to be created in order to maintain a safe, peaceful, orderly and conducive election situation.
He further said that campaign activities for the 2024 election will begin on November 28 – February 10, 2024. After that, there will be a 3-day quiet period, and the voting will take place on February 14, 2014.
Meanwhile, Bawaslu Chairperson Sakhroji said the election vulnerability index for the DKI Jakarta Province was considered to be in the high vulnerability category at 88.95%. And of all areas in DKI Jakarta, the East Jakarta area is at 65.14%, which means that the vulnerability is also quite high.
“Therefore, through today’s event, I really hope that we will be able to eliminate issues of SARA, hoaxes, black campaigns, and money politics. We will condition the 2024 elections in East Jakarta to be clean and clear,” said Sahkroji.
On this occasion, Dandim 0505/JT Lt. Col. Arm. Suyikno also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Polres Metro Jakarta Timur, especially the Kapolres Metro Jakarta Timur, who had initiated the implementation of this activity.
“Through this activity we, the TNI/POLRI, also expressed our readiness to oversee the peaceful course of the 2024 elections. The TNI will also uphold neutrality and will not take sides anywhere,” he stressed. Bembo
