Jakarta – INKAI Central Management (PP) held its first coaching clinic road show at GOR Nanggala Kopassus on Saturday, (25/11). And as the opening of the activity, the DAN 7 Honor belt was awarded to Letjen TNI I Nyoman Cantiasa.
The awarding of the DAN Honor belt was given as a form of appreciation to Letjen TNI Nyoman Cantiasa as the MURI record holder for the most participants taking the INKAI Black Belt DAN exam in 2022. The best graduate who won the 1990 Adhi Makayasa Military Academy (Akmil) did this while still serving as Pangdam XVIII/Kasuari, West Papua and Pangkogabwilhan III.
The awarding of the DAN 7 Honor belt to Letjen TNI I Nyoman Cantiasa was carried out by the Chairman of the INKAI Teachers Council Sihan Abdul Kadir, holder of the DAN 9 INKAI belt who was also a former World Karate Champion in the Kumite class in the 80s.
In his speech after awarding the DAN 7 Honor belts, Letjen TNI Nyoman Cantiasa said that INKAI karate currently dominates the championship and has outstanding athletes at national and international levels.
“However, you must always remember that all of this is based on the Karate Oath in everyday life. Because the capital of a karateka’s resilience is primarily being able to maintain one’s personality and adhere to honesty,” said Letjen TNI Cantiasa in his message.
INKAI’s coaching clinic road show presented Grand Master Shotokan legends Tanaka Sensei, Kawawada Sensei, Ogata Sensei and President of the Japan Traditional Karate Association Yuko Takahashi Sensei.
This activity was attended by 1,400 black belt participants from DKI, West Java, Banten, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua and other areas. Of this number, 1,100 people from all Kodam soldiers passed DAN 1 and 7 people passed directly to DAN 2.

This coaching clinic road show activity will continue again in Yogya and Central Java on November 26, Surabaya on November 29 and Bali December 3.
In the future, INKAI trainers will also be sent to train Uchi Desi Karate at JTK Japan. They are also expected to be able to help with preparations for the Shotokan World Championship which will be held in Indonesia in 2025.
This championship will implement the Shotokan style full contact ippon shobu system which was very famous in the 70s and 80s. This system uses sparring patterns regardless of class or weight and age.
