Jakarta – The woman suspected of being the mastermind behind the Coldplay concert ticket fraud, Ghisca Debora Aritonang (GDA) (19), was presented to the public by the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Monday (20/11). This woman, who is also listed as a Trisakti University student on a daily basis, was taken out of the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat detention room, wearing an orange shirt and handcuffed.
When two policewomen were brought before journalists at the press conference podium, Ghisca was seen wearing a black mask and letting down her long hair so that part of her face was covered. The black mask that Gischa was wearing was finally removed by the policewoman who was leading her.
Kapolres Metro Jakarta Pusat, Kombes Pol Susatyo Purnomo Condro, in his statement said that Ghisca was reported to Polres Metro Jakarta Pusay in six police reports regarding fraud and embezzlement at Coldplay concerts.
“The first is the pioneer in the name of VS Rp1,350 billion or 700 tickets. The second is that AS reported Rp1,030 billion or 600 tickets,” said Kapolres Susatyo in a press conference at the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat Headquarters.
“The third MF was Rp1.3 billion or 500 tickets, then the fourth was the SG reporter’s Rp73 million. Then the AR victim was Rp1.3 billion or 400 tickets and the last one reported CL was Rp230 million,” he continued.
Overall, Ghisca was proven to have defrauded his victims of Rp5.1 billion which was converted into 2,268 tickets.
Kapolres Susatyo said, that Ghisca had been named a suspect since Friday, (17/11) last week, after the victims took him to the Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat on November 13 2023
“We named this GDA as a suspect and we detained him last Friday. A total of 7 witnesses were questioned,” said Kapolres Susatyo.
Furthermore, the Kapolres Susatyo also said that his party had carried out a search and confiscation of Ghisca’s belongings. Some of them are branded shoes and bags.
It is strongly suspected that all of these items were purchased by Ghisca with fraudulent money, an amount estimated at up to Rp600 million.
“The total amount of evidence is approximately Rp600 million and the remaining almost Rp2 billion is for the suspect’s personal use. Currently we are still developing money or goods resulting from crimes committed by the suspect,” explained Kapolres Susatyo.
To be held accountable for his actions, investigators charged Gischa with Article 378 concerning Fraud and/or 372 concerning Embezzlement with the threat of a sentence of four years in prison each.
On this occasion, the Kapolres Susatyo also gave Ghisca the opportunity to apologize to the victims who attended the press conference.
“I am Ghisca Debora Aritonang, I admit my mistake and I will follow the legal process. And I have handed this case over to the police,” she said with her face lowered as if she was holding back tears. Bembo
