Jakarta – Polres Metro Jakarta Barat arrested two residents who were involved in the action of beating Saiful Jamil’s assistant, Steven, when the police carried out an ambush in Jakarta Barat.
One of the perpetrators had the initials RP alias Ucok (26), a resident of Pesing Koneng RT 9 RW 2 Kedoya Utara Village, Kebon Jeruk District, Jakarta Barat. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket and black helmet.
“RP alias Ucok’s role at the time of the incident was grabbing the hair of the drug abuse suspect in the name of S, and hitting the suspect’s lips with his right hand,” said Kapolres Metro Jakarta Barat, Kombes Pol M Syahduddi during a press conference on the case at his office, Friday, (12/1 ).
Then, continued Kapolres Syahduddi, the second perpetrator was named Usup (23), a resident of Gambir, Jakarta Pusat. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a gray helmet and red jacket.
“We charged both of them with Article 170 of the Criminal Code. With the arrest of the two members of the public who were involved in the beating and were also verbally abused, what i said in the first release was that those who carried out the beating and intimidation were not members of the Polri,” emphasized the Kapolres Shahduddi.
According to him, the suspect Ucok was a resident who happened to pass by the location. “The person concerned is a member of the public who happened to be crossing the road when the chase occurred,” he said.
Kapolres Syahduddi also said, that during the examination the two suspects admitted that they were upset because they were grazed and hit by Steven.
