Jakarta – Polres Metro Jakarta Utara destroyed narcotics evidence resulting from the disclosure of the case on August 18 2023.
Evidence of thousands of grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and synthetic (gorilla) drugs were destroyed by burning them using an incinerator in the yard of the Polres Metro Jakarta Utara Headquarters, Tuesday, (5/12) afternoon.
“The evidence that was destroyed consisted of methamphetamine with a gross total of 5,231.16 grams. Then 2 grams of marijuana, rolled marijuana. Then gorilla weighing 1.08 grams,” said Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setyawan at the location.
“Because this is an item that has a high risk of being used, is prone to being lost, and is vulnerable to the mobilization process for transporting evidence. So it must be destroyed immediately,” he continued.
Kapolres Gidion also emphasized that the drug crackdown in North Jakarta is expected to be a momentum to change the mindset of young people to stay away from drugs.
Because, continued Kapolres Gidion, the circulation of narcotics is part of a vicious circle.
“More people want to be arrested, more people are circulating. More people want to be arrested and more perpetrators,” he said.
“So the only most effective way is not to touch, not to get to know each other and not to try,” he continued to emphasize.
In this destruction process, the Polres Metro Jakarta Utara also invited representatives from North Jakarta Kodim 0502, North Jakarta City Government, North Jakarta District Court, and the North Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office to throw evidence into the incinerator machine. Bembo
