Jakarta – The police managed to arrest the perpetrators who attacked and burned a couple with gasoline, namely, S (39) and D (38) on the side of Jalan Raya Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Victim S died with burns after trying to extinguish the fire by throwing himself into the river.
“The perpetrator was arrested this morning in Penjaringan, North Jakarta,” said Kabid Humas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Endra Zulpan, Friday (6/1).
Separately, the Kapolsek, Penjaringan, AKBP M Probandono Bobby Danuardi said that at this time the perpetrator had been detained to undergo examination.
“We will dig deeper for information from the perpetrators of this incident. He has admitted his actions and his status is now a suspect,” said Kapolsek Bobby.
Previously reported, this incident occurred on Wednesday (4/1). Based on the testimony of the witness, the two victims who were walking at the TKP were suddenly attacked by the perpetrator who immediately threw a box filled with gasoline and then set them on fire.
Victim S spontaneously immediately threw herself into Kali Fajar Angke to put out the fire that was burning her body. Meanwhile, victim D, who was also burned, only screamed for help from residents.
Victim S was finally declared dead with severe burns. Meanwhile, victim D only suffered burns on his left hand and is now being treated at Duta Indah Hospital.
“The identification results stated that victim S had burns all over his body. Meanwhile the cause of death is still being processed,” Kapolsek Bobby Danuardi said. bem
