Jakarta – Polda Metro Jaya plans to involve Karang Taruna to be actively involved in its area’s environmental security system (Siskamling). This is because the Siskamling method is considered effective in preventing crime in residential areas.
“This is one of the future programs. Karang Taruna is involved in attending. Poskamling is also a place for deliberation, to discuss social problems in the environment. For example, there is a commotion between residents, from neighbors’ problems, that is discussed here,” said the Director of Community Development (Dirbinmas) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Badya Wijaya, Wednesday, (6/12).
Kombes Pol Badya said, this after checking Poskamling RW 03, Bangka Village, Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta. As known, Poskamling RW 03 Bangka Village, Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta is the first winner of the Pos Kamling competition held by Polda Metro Jaya.
On this occasion, Kombes Pol Badya also handed over assistance for Poskamling equipment, such as flashlights, ‘T’ letter sticks. He also said that holding the Siskamling competition was to motivate other people to be active in Siskamling.
This Satkamling Post Competition, Kombes Pol Badya continued, will be held every 3 months. This is to stimulate and make the public aware that security is the obligation and responsibility of the community, not just the Polri and TNI.
The reactivation of Siskamling is a program Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto. This program was initiated by Kapolda Karyoto because it was considered very effective in maintaining public security and order. With Siskamling, the intentions of criminals can be minimized.
“Very effective, especially with CCTV.
If the security guard is alive, criminals will think twice. If there was a possibility of theft or other criminal activities, the perpetrators of the crime would think twice. The existence of this Satkamling is very effective in preventing crime and also its social aspects,” explained Kombes Pol Badya.
Kapolsek Mampang Prapatan Kompol David Kanitero also added, that he really hopes that other areas in Mampang Prapatan District can also reactivate this Poskamling.
“It is hoped that small problems that can be resolved by residents can be resolved with this Siskamling. Siskamling can report to the police if residents’ problems cannot be resolved or find obstacles,” he said. Bembo
