Polda Metro Jaya Opens Channel for Communities who Have Lost Ranmor

Motor vehicle (ranmor) resulting from crime which is planned to be sent and sold to Timor Leste.

Jakarta – Polda Metro Jaya has opened an information channel for people who have lost motorized vehicles (ranmor) in the form of cars and motorbikes to contact the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya.

“For victims who feel they have lost their vehicle, they can coordinate with the Ditreskrimum via 081284232366 or 08129188904,” said the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra.

As previously reported, Polda Metro Jaya and the TNI succeeded in uncovering the smuggling of 49 cars and 215 motorbikes which were suspected to be the result of motor vehicle theft (curanmor) at the Balkir Central Army Engineer Warehouse (Gudbalkir Pusziad) in Buduran, Sidoarjo, East Java.

Hundreds of these vehicles are planned to be smuggled via the sea route from Tanjung Perak Harbor to Dili Harbor, Dili City, Timor Leste.

From this arrest, the Polri named four suspects, each with the initials MY, BP, AS, and J. The suspects are known to have carried out their actions since 2022 and managed to reap profits of Rp3 to Rp4 billion.

“This syndicate has been running since January (2023). And actually for the perpetrators of theft, based on up to now their involvement is preparing the place,” said Kapendam V/Brawijaya, Kolonel Inf Rendra Dwi Ardhani.

Kolonel Rendra also dismissed the notion that the TNI AD provided back up in this case. Because in this case there are purely individual members who act alone.

“If we provide backing, it doesn’t exist. So this individual is moving on his own and is perhaps outside the control of his commander,” he stressed.

He also stated, that the Indonesian Army (AD) was ready to take firm action. All individuals involved will be processed in accordance with applicable law.

“We will develop (the case) and be transparent to the public. That is our commitment at the Indonesian Army to carry out the legal process and be punished as fairly as possible,” he emphasized again. Bembo
