Jakarta – Nining (51), a resident of RT 13 RW 06 Tebet, South Jakarta, had a cheerful face when she received the house key symbolically handed over by the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto, Monday, (15/1).
This symbolic handing over of house keys is the final part of the Polda Metro Jaya Precision House Renovation Program. Nining’s house, which was damaged by flooding, is now in good condition after Polda Metro Jaya completed repairs as a form of police concern for the community.
Kapolda Karyoto explained, that his party was collaborating with businessman Yusuf Hamka or better known as Baba Alun to carry out the idea of renovating residents’ houses.
“I just initiated it, just channeled it. I asked Bang Yusuf, ‘Come on, bro, let’s make a house renovation project’,” said Kapolda Karyoto in his speech in Tebet, South Jakarta, today.
This house renovation program, continued Kapolda Karyoto, was carried out by his staff at the Police level. To date, Polda Metro Jaya officials have completed the house renovation program for 13 residents’ houses.
Kapolda Karyoto added that several Kapolres’s also tried to be independent during yesterday’s Bakti Bhayangkari. More than 13 houses have been repaired.
“Well, this is a form of shared concern that if in our midst there are people who are really lacking, the first ones who are responsible are their neighbors,” he added.
During his house renovation remarks, Kapolda Karyoto also invited the community to always be harmonious as neighbors. He also said that people should remain harmonious during the elections next February, even though they have different choices
When asked for a response, the owner of the Nining house said he really appreciated the assistance from Polda Metro Jaya. He felt happy and glad to be back living in a comfortable home.
