Jakarta – The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of Polda Metro Jaya is in the process of catching up on time to complete the case file for alleged extortion of former Corruption Eradication Commission Chairman, Firli Bahuri, to be immediately returned to the DKI Prosecutor’s Office.

“We update, that this week the joint investigative team of Sub-Directorate Tipidkor Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya and Dittipidkor Bareskrim Polri,  is fulfilling several P19 instructions from the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office which is handling the case a quo,” said the Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Thursday, (18/1).

According to him, to fulfill this material this week there will be an examination of a number of witnesses.

“So this week there are several witness examination agendas that we have to carry out. This includes confrontations and they have also been scheduled,” he said.

“One of them was yesterday that a summons was sent and received for the suspect FB for an examination schedule on Friday, (19/1) at 09.00 in the examination room of the Ditipidkor Bareskrim Polri, 6th floor,” he continued.

He also said, that there were no obstacles in the process of completing this file at all. His party is confident that they can quickly complete the P19 instructions from the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office.

“Until now there have been no obstacles related to fulfilling the P19 guidance material from the prosecutor at the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office which handles the a quo case,” said Kombes Pol Ade.

As is known, the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office has asked Polda Metro Jaya to immediately send back the case files for alleged extortion by Firli Bahuri against Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). The request was made because Polda Metro Jaya had missed the deadline for returning the files.

“That’s right! The deadline was Thursday (11/1) last week,” said Daily Executive (Plh) Head of the Legal Information Section of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati), Herlangga Wisnu, some time ago.

Herlangga explained, that this was in accordance with Article 138 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), namely two weeks after the file was returned to investigators.

The investigator is obliged to return the case files again 14 days after returning the files (after the files are received by the investigator).

“In the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, calendar days apply,” said Herlangga. Bembo
