Jakarta – A number of Brimob and Samapta personnel were deployed by Polda Metro Jaya to help two public kitchens set up for fire victims living in refugee camps in Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
These two public kitchens will later be used to prepare food for thousands of displaced residents.
“We have set up a public kitchen from Mobile Brigade and Samapta Polda Metro Jaya at the Kapuk Muara Village Hall, Penjaringan,” said the Kabid Humas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko to the media crew when visiting the Kapuk Muara fire victim evacuation site, Monday, (31/ 7) yesterday.
“There are two public kitchens here. Samapta can produce 450 packs of rice per day and Brimob can produce 600 packs of rice a day,” added the officer with the Zodiac Leo who during his visit was also accompanied by Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara, Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setyawan.

Hundreds of packaged rice, Kombes Pol Trunoyudo continued, would later be distributed to residents who were victims of the fire in Kapuk Muara. The distribution starts from breakfast, lunch to evening.
As is known, a severe fire incident occurred in the densely populated residential area of RW 03 Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta last Sunday (30/7).
As a result of this fire, at least 400 houses were burnt.
“The number of heads of families (KK) is approximately 200 people with the number of houses burned down to approximately 400 houses consisting of semi-permanent and ordinary houses,” said Kapuk Muara Urban Village Head Jason Simanjuntak.
As a result of losing their homes, Jason continued, more than 1,000 people were forced to flee to tents that had been prepared by the government, not far from the location that caught fire.
There were no casualties in this incident. It was only recorded that two people experienced shortness of breath, namely a mother and her child. It is not yet known how long the fire survivors have to stay in the evacuation sites. Bembo
