DIY – The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Police has confirmed that there are no new suspects in the shooting incident of a young man by members of the police at Padukuhan Wuni, Nglindur, Girisubo, Gunungkidul some time ago. So far the Yogyakarta Regional Police have only named First Brigadier Muhammad Kharisma (MK) as a suspect in this case.
“There are no (additional suspects), just one suspect that we have named,” said the DIY Regional Police Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Kombes Pol Nuredy Irwansyah to the media crew at the DIY Police Headquarters, Monday, (22/5).
It is known that the MK Brigadier has been named a suspect in the death of Aldi Apriyanto (19), who was shot by a gun during a hamlet clean music event at Padukuhan Wuni, Nglindur, Girisubo, Gunungkidul on Sunday, (14/5) evening last week.
Based on the investigation conducted by Polda DIY, it turns out that the First Brigadier MK has committed an ethical violation. For this violation, First Brigadier MK was serving a demotion sentence at the Girisubo Police at the time of the incident.
Previously, Kapolda DIY, Inspector General Pol Suwondo Nainggolan said that the MK Brigadier had to undergo a demotion due to family problems.
Head of Propam Polda DIY Kombes Pol Hariyanto, also added, First Brigadier MK was a man born in 1995. Previously he served at Ditreskrimsus Polda DIY.
However, due to ethical violations, First Brigadier MK was ordered to serve a demotion sentence at the Girisubo Police. At the time of the shooting incident, First Brigadier MK was placed on duty at the Girisubo Police Sabhara Unit.
“This demotion process should end on September 5, 2026. So it hasn’t been a year in Girisubo,” said Hariyanto.
Currently the suspect is still undergoing a marathon inspection by the DIY Police. Both by Propam and related to the crime by Ditreskrimum.
