Maintaining TNI Neutrality in the 2024 Election, Panglima TNI Leads the Kick Off of the TNI Neutrality Complaint Post
Jakarta – Panglima TNI Laksamana TNI Yudo Margono accompanied by Chief of Army Staff (KSAD) Jenderal TNI Agus Subiyanto, Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Laksamana TNI Muhammad Ali, and Chief of Air Staff (KSAU) Marsekal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo led the kick off of the Complaints Post TNI Neutrality in the 2024 Election, in the Silent Room of TNI Headquarters Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Monday, (20/11).
In his remarks, the Panglima TNI said that the simultaneous General Elections and Regional Head Elections which will be held in 2024 are of great concern to the entire Indonesian nation. And the TNI itself will remain firm in its commitment not to involve itself in practical political activities, either directly or indirectly.
“To prevent criminal acts of violation of elections and regional elections, the Panglima TNI has issued instructions to the TNI Commander Number IR 1/VIII of 2023 concerning guidelines for TNI neutrality in elections and regional elections,” said Panglima Yudo.
Panglima Yudo further explained, that the TNI Neutrality Complaints Post in the 2024 Election will certainly guarantee the security of the public/individuals who report. There is no need to worry anymore about complaining because the security of the reporter is guaranteed by the state.
“Of course, it’s the same as reporting a TNI crime, there’s no need to hide it. Because he reported that there was really fraud, or that TNI soldiers had committed criminal acts. Of course, the POM TNI investigative team will process the report. So people don’t need to be afraid. In fact, with these posts we will of course carry out the legal process openly. “I convey again to the media, there is nothing hidden in the legal process for TNI soldiers,” said Panglima Yudo.
He also guaranteed the commitment of all TNI soldiers to be neutral. And to provide trust in the community, the TNI Neutrality Complaints Post was established as a forum for trust.
“To give confidence to the community, the TNI established a TNI Neutrality Complaints Post,” he said.
Panglima Yudo also hopes that the TNI and the community can work together to ensure that the 2024 elections run safely and peacefully. Moreover, the public can also participate in monitoring the TNI’s neutrality.
“The community is monitoring if they see the TNI’s non-neutrality, the community can report it to these posts,” he explained again.
Panglima Yudo also said that for the mechanism for resolving criminal acts for complaints reported by the public, the TNI POM or command post will later record it, then record it, and direct it to Bawaslu. Next, Bawaslu just needs to determine the level of violations or criminal acts or disciplinary violations or ordinary violations committed by the TNI soldier.
“Of course integrated TNI law enforcement will be implemented. Later POM, prosecutors or Ankum, Pepera will determine.
