Bandung – The Directorate of Traffic Safety and Security (Ditkamsel) Korlantas Polri held a 2023 Safety Celebration event at the Sabilulungan Cultural Building, Soreang, Bandung Regency, Saturday, (25/11).
This activity was officially opened by the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Pol Firman Shantyabudi. Also accompanying the National Police Traffic Corps Head at the opening of the event was the Dirkamsel Korlantas Polri Brigjen Pol Ery Nursatari. This time’s Safety Celebration carries the theme Healthy, Safety, Precision.
Kakorlantas Polri Irjen Pol Firman Shantyabudi in his speech said that when using a motorized vehicle it is not enough just to be skilled at driving it. But it also requires good and correct traffic etiquette.
“The presence of concern, empathy and tolerance when driving can at least reduce the factors of violations or accidents that can result in casualties to themselves or others,” said Kakorlantas.
Apart from that, Kakorlantas also said that the Safety Festival this time was being held as an effort to improve the culture of orderly traffic, considering that the fatality of accidents and traffic violations is still high.
“With the participation of the community to become safety ambassadors both during the event and on digital social media, it is hoped that this will become a collective movement to create public awareness about the importance of safety,” he said.
For your information, this activity was filled with pins being pinned to motorbike bikers, reading the pledge of safety pioneers, a driving safety coaching clinic and a safety riding demonstration.
Also present were the Head of the Sub Directorate for Operational Management and Engineering (Subdit Jemenopsrek) Korlantas Polri Kombes Pol Indra Jafar, Deputy Director of Traffic for the West Java Regional Police AKBP Edwin Affandi, as well as the bikers community.
