Jakarta – The case of trafficking in kidney organs in Tarumajaya, Bekasi Regency, is currently being handled by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya. Investigators are investigating the case which is strongly suspected of involving this international syndicate.
“It will be completed soon. It’s being developed first,” said Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Karyoto to the media crew, Friday, (23/6).
As is known, the National Police Headquarters has also confirmed the existence of a kidney organ sales network in Tarumajaya, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The case is currently being developed by Polda Metro Jaya.
“The process of handling the alleged sale of organs from international tissue in Bekasi is still under investigation by investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya Ditkrimum,” said Karo Penmas Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan in a press conference at the National Police Headquarters, Thursday, (22/6) yesterday.
The police raided a house that was suspected of being a place for selling kidney organs at Perum Vila Mutiara Gading, Jalan Piano IX, Setiaasih Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, on Monday (19/6) early last morning. At that location, the perpetrator’s network accommodated a number of victims whose kidneys were to be sold to Cambodia.
The police raided a house that was suspected of being a place for selling kidney organs at Perum Vila Mutiara Gading, Jalan Piano IX, Setiaasih Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, on Monday, (19/6) early last morning. At that location, the perpetrator’s network accommodated a number of victims whose kidneys were to be sold to Cambodia. At that location, the police also secured a number of victims who were going to sell their kidneys. According to information, the victims will then be taken to Cambodia to have their kidneys removed.
The police arrested the suspected perpetrator at that location. A number of items of evidence were confiscated by the police.
Currently the police are still developing the case. The alleged perpetrator was charged with Article 64 paragraph (3) of Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning Health and/or Article 4 and/or Article 10 and/or Article 13 of Law No. 21 of 2007 concerning the Crime of Trafficking in Persons. Bembo
