Jakarta – Kapolri Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo invited the public to always maintain togetherness even though they have different choices during the upcoming elections. The Polri, he said, would strongly support the community in holding a peaceful election declaration.
“Please guard it together. We always go around conveying and witnessing the declaration of peaceful elections. Because this is important for our society which will of course be affected by differences of opinion,” explained Kapolri Listyo Sigit at the Vice President’s Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, (14/11).
“And we don’t want polarization of the nation’s children because unity and oneness are prioritized,” he continued.
He also said that the TNI-Polri would make every effort to maintain the unity and unity of Indonesia in facing this political year. According to him, Indonesia must continue to be united amidst the unstable global situation.
The Kapolri said that whoever is elected president will be faced with the challenges of global dynamics. So, he continued, society should not be polarized because of the different presidential figures chosen.
“Maintaining the integrity of society, the integrity of the nation, unity and oneness. That is the main thing. Whoever the president is. Because we are facing global problems and we all have to be united. And whoever the president is will face that and must be responsible for the people,” he said.
Furthermore, this four-star general who graduated from the Bhara Daksa Battalion of the Police Academy in 1991 also said that the TNI-Polri continue to prioritize maintaining unity and integrity by adhering to Pancasila. Therefore, he invited the community to maintain unity and not have divisions in society even if they have different opinions.
The Polri, he continued, is committed to securing all stages so that the 2024 elections run smoothly. Security in Operation Mantap Brata has been carried out since the KPU declared that the 2024 election series had begun.
Starting from the logistics distribution stage, voting implementation, counting, to security during an election lawsuit at the Constitutional Court (MK).
“I don’t think this is only implemented during this election. Since the election, the Polri has always been there. I received the task of carrying out security duties during the election stages,” he said.
For this reason, the Kapolri continued, he asked the public to report if they found police officers who did more than provide security in the 2024 Election. The Kapolri also asked for reports accompanied by evidence of alleged violations.
“And if you have questions, if anyone has violated that commitment? Yes, please report it. Of course we will process it. However, it would be best if there was sufficient evidence, not just framing, not just rumors, but also sufficient evidence,” he concluded. Bembo
