Padang – Kapolda Sumatera Barat, Irjen Pol Suharyono led the 78th anniversary ceremony of the Polri Mobile Brigade Corps (Korps Brimob) in 2023, in the yard of the West Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Command Headquarters, last Thursday, (16/11).
On this occasion, Kapolda Suharyono read out the message from the Kapolri, conveying that he hoped that the Brimob Polri Corps could continue to be an elite force that was proud of the Polri which was always able to contribute to realizing the advanced Indonesia that we all aspire to.
Also mentioned by Kapolda Suharyono, one of the National Heroes who is also the Father of Brimob Polri, namely Komjen Pol. Dr. H. M. Jasin once said, “If we serve, history cannot be lied to because later history itself will prove it.”
“This message has certainly been proven, where we can see that the long history of service by the Brimob Polri Corps in guarding the struggle of the Indonesian nation has been recorded as a mark of gold ink and is a source of pride for us all,” said Kapolda Suharyono.
The achievements of the Brimob Polri Corps up to now cannot be doubted. Especially in terms of dealing with high-intensity crime and securing various government programs and agendas.
“Of course we agree that what the National Police Mobile Brigade Corps personnel did was an extraordinary sacrifice that went beyond the call of duty,” explained the two-star general, the best graduate who won Adhi Makayasa from the 1992 Pratisara Wirya Police Academy Battalion.
Currently, Kapolda Suharyono continued, Indonesia is facing the challenge of global uncertainty which has given rise to global economic turmoil. To deal with this, continued Kapolda Suharyono, economic transformation is needed which must be supported by conducive security and social security stability.
This is also in line with President Joko Widodo’s emphasis in the 2023 DPR RI plenary session. The President at that time said that security stability is important in the context of our country’s development, in the context of our economic growth, and in an uncertain situation due to global uncertainty.
“Therefore, in order to support national economic development and growth, there are various challenges to the stability of security and social security that need to be paid attention to by the Indonesian Police Mobile Brigade Corps,” said Kapolda Suharyono.
The first, he continued, is securing major government projects. Second, securing national and international events. Third, natural disaster management. Fourth, the KKB and KKP movement in Papua. Fifth, the threat of terrorism. Sixth, overcoming social conflict. And seventh is securing the 2024 simultaneous elections and elections.
“Continue to maintain the honor of the Brimob Polri Corps, and uphold the Promise of the True Brimob, namely Satya Haprabu, Hanyaken Musuh, Gineung Pratidina and Tan Satrisna.
