Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Pol Karyoto together with the Pangdam Jaya Maj. Gen. TNI Mohamad Hasan went directly to help clean the Ciliwung River in the Kalijodo RPTRA area, Jakarta, Tuesday, (15/8).
This Ciliwung River clean-up activity was held to welcome the 78th Birthday of the Republic of Indonesia (RI Anniversary) on 17 August. The theme taken for this activity is “Grebeg Kali Ciliwung”.
In this activity, the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Pangdam Jaya, and the Mayor of North Jakarta were seen compactly scooping up the floating trash from the rubber boat they were traveling on.
There was absolutely no feeling of amusement or disgust that could be seen from the expressions on the faces of the three leaders. They picked up all kinds of trash that were seen floating in the Kalijodo stream on the border of West Jakarta and North Jakarta.
The “Grebeg Kali Ciliwung” activity starts from 14 to 19 August 2023. This activity involved nearly 2 thousand joint personnel, both TNI, Polri, the community and various other elements.
This activity was deliberately made with the hope of summoning public awareness to keep the environment clean together
After “Grebeg Kali Ciliwung” ended on the 19th, the next day on the 20th the activity was continued with a people’s party event at Kalijodo on August 20 2023. Various people’s competitions have also been prepared at the people’s party to welcome the Republic of Indonesia’s independence day.
The North Jakarta Mayor, Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara, Kapolres Metro Jakarta Barat, North Jakarta Dandim, West Jakarta Dandim, Main Officials for Kodam Jaya, as well as the Kapolsek Tambora and the Kapolsek Metro Penjaringan also participated in this activity. Bembo
