Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto does not want to be bothered by the efforts of the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri to file a pre-trial lawsuit against him for being named a suspect in the alleged extortion case against Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
“Yes, that’s his right after being named a suspect. And that’s fine,” said Kapolda Karyoto casually to journalists at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, Saturday, (25/11).
Likewise, Kapolda Karyoto also firmly stated that as an institution, Polda Metro Jaya was ready and not afraid to face the pretrial lawsuit filed by Firli.
“Organizationally, we are all complete. So let’s play, we are,” he said again.
As is known, Firli filed a pretrial lawsuit against the Kapolda Metro Jaya at the South Jakarta District Court (PN), Friday (24/11).
Firli Bahuri filed this lawsuit because he did not accept being named a suspect in alleged extortion by Polda Metro Jaya.
The lawsuit against the Kapolda Metro Jaya is registered under number 129/Pid.Pra/2023/PN JKT.SEL.
Meanwhile, Firli has been named a suspect in alleged extortion or receiving gratuities or gifts/promises related to the handling of the corruption case of the former Minister of Agriculture, SYL, at the KPK.
After being named a suspect, Firli was temporarily dismissed from his position as chairman of the KPK. He was replaced by KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango as acting chairman of the KPK. Bembo
