Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto, was reluctant to respond to the statement by constitutional law expert, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, who asked that the alleged extortion case of former KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri against Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) be stopped.
“As for me, in principle I will resolve the case immediately. I don’t want to waste time,” said Kapolda Karyoto to reporters, Tuesday, (16/1).
Previously, Yusril Ihza Mahendra stated that the extortion case carried out by the suspect, former Corruption Eradication Commission Chairman Firli Bahuri, against the former Minister of Agriculture, SYL, must be stopped. He conveyed this while undergoing examination as a lightening witness for Firli, at Bareskim Police Headquarters, on Monday, (15/1).
According to Yusril, the handling of this case had many irregularities. Starting from evidence to witnesses being examined.
“Actually, this case should be stopped. It can be stopped through pretrial, SP3 can also be issued,” he said.
According to him again, one of the irregularities in this case was the determination of Firli’s suspect status which was considered very fast. Even before the police conducted an investigation.
Separately, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak also stated that he was reluctant to respond to the request.
“I did not respond to that, because the person concerned was examined as a de charge witness and this was conveyed to the suspect FB during the suspect’s last examination,” he explained.
Furthermore, Kombes Pol Ade also apologized
if the investigator will not respond to the request because it is out of context.
“Regarding comments outside the context of the investigation, we are sorry we did not respond and it is not our competence to respond,” he said again. Bembo
