Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto and Pj DKI Governor Heru Budi Hartono carried out “Planting of Ten Million Trees” in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, Wednesday, (15/11). This activity was also carried out simultaneously with the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, whose kickoff was centered in Madiun, East Java.

“A total of 10,700 were prepared and today there are approximately 50 trees directly planted here and will be sustainable,” said Pj Governor of DKI Heru Budi Hartono.

“The benefits of planting trees are very important for preserving the life of animals and plants. “The trees we plant will absorb carbon dioxide or CO², then produce oxygen or O² during the day, so our environment will be cool and shady,” he continued.

Heru Budi emphasized that tree planting is not only the responsibility of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and Polda Metro Jaya, but is the collective responsibility of the entire community. He also emphasized the importance of close collaboration between the government, TNI, Polri and society in protecting the environment for better survival.

“We hope that by planting these 10 million trees, especially in DKI Jakarta, it will be greener and healthier and can be passed on to future generations,” Heru Budi said.

This simultaneous tree planting event which was carried out in 34 Polda Headquarters in Indonesia was part of the national mental revolution movement spearheaded by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture together with the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia. Bembo
