Kapolda Karyoto Designs a Dialogical Approach to Prevent Fighting Actions

Jakarta – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Inspector General Pol Karyoto has devised a number of ways to deal with the occurrence of brawls in Jakarta. One of them is a re-entive effort through a dialogical approach.

Kapolda Karyoto admitted that he would gather the perpetrators of the brawl to provide material on national insight. Polda Metro Jaya will also cooperate with Kodam Jaya and other stakeholders.

“Later we will work together with the Regional Military Command and others in the framework of coaching. Uniting them will provide some insights about the nationality of social life that they must understand,” said the Kapolda Karyoto in a statement quoted by topiconline.co.id, Wednesday, (31/5).

Karyoto conveyed this after meeting with residents in Gang Mayong, East Jakarta. There were several inputs from the community, especially regarding the problem of brawls and the Head of Police, Karyoto, welcomed them positively.

“If possible, the people who are fighting are gathered. We ask, those who know about the fight are their parents who are here. It would be good if they gave that input,” he said

Kapolda Karyoto also likened the brawl to an embryo. If left unchecked it can grow big and spread everywhere. In fact, all problems can find a solution.

“That doesn’t mean we just come and keep going home. We will be more proactive in terms of prevention. We thank the enthusiasm of the people who are looking for solutions. It is very clear that they want to feel that their area is not only safe but comfortable,” he explained.

Apart from the brawls, Kapolda Karyoto also paid attention to the settlements that grew around Gang Mayong. He found there was one house inhabited by many people.

“The house is cramped. So some of them can’t live normally. This means that if they have to go to bed at 9 o’clock, they can’t sleep, they have to take turns. This is a common problem,” Kapolda Karyoto said.

Furthermore, he also hopes for the involvement of the local government to present programs that directly touch every citizen’s problem. For example, in relation to settlements, the solution is to build flats.

“Maybe this could be a solution. And more importantly, if they are unemployed, the local government has offered skills training. With those skills, they can work. With that job, they can focus on the future. If you don’t have a job, get together, let alone drugs that are taken eventually cause chaos,” he warned. Bembo
