Jakarta – The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of Polda Metro Jaya succeeded in arresting 37 suspects from three categories of crime, namely theft with violence (curas), theft with weight (curat) and motor vehicle theft (curanmor) in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya.
The 37 suspects were arrested based on the 17 criminal cases that occurred.
“In the theft cases there were 4 cases with 5 suspects. A prominent case of violent theft using an illegal gun in Rawalumbu, Bekasi,” said the Director of Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra in his official statement at Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, (31/1).
Then another prominent case, continued Kombes Pol Wira, was the case of snatching a cellphone on Jalan Latuharhary, Menteng, Central Jakarta, with the victim being the wife of a TNI member.
“There were 3 mugging perpetrators who were arrested, with the initials BG, DY and AW, a recidivist. The recidivist perpetrator was detained for 4 years,” he explained again.
After that, there was also a prominent case where a pregnant woman was snatched on Jalan Flyover Kuningan, Setia Budi, South Jakarta. During the action, the perpetrator forcibly pulled the pregnant woman’s bag.
“There were 4 perpetrators, 2 suspects who were arrested by OH and RDP. Meanwhile, the other 2 perpetrators are on the wanted list (DPO),” said Kombes Pol Wira.
Next again was the pickpocketing that was caught at the JCC during the Vice Presidential debate. The perpetrator used a fake journalist access card to enter the debate arena.
At that time, the perpetrator managed to take the cellphone of the Chief Journalist Photographer who was covering the Vice Presidential debate.
The 37 perpetrators who were arrested were charged by investigators under Article 363 and Article 365. The threat of punishment is a maximum imprisonment of 9 years. Bembo
