Jakarta – Kapolres Metro Jakarta Utara, Kombes Pol Gidion Arif Setyawan took the initiative to initiate a humanist program entitled “greet, listen, respond” or what is abbreviated as “SADAR”. This program was born to maximize services to the community.
“So it’s like this, we come consciously, aware of the position of the Polri, aware of our position as part of society by saying hello, saying hello. There are no people suddenly coming to confide, there is an emotional approach. Then after there is greeting each other, then they listen, listen “We will listen. Then respond,” said Kapolres Gidion, Friday, (17/11) yesterday.
It was said that after the police greeted them, heard the public’s complaints, they then provided a response. One of them is social media response activities.
“We do what is our part. Even though it is not our part, there is something we can do. There is a direct physical response, then there is a virtual one. That’s why we created a social media response program,” Kapolres Gidion said.
He explained that technological developments have made it easier for people to convey their complaints via social media. And the police, he continued, will respond to complaints or complaints from residents on social media.
“Now the times are different. There was a criminal incident, he said he was pickpocketed, robbed or stolen. He didn’t report it to the police, he uploaded it on social media, he hoped the police would come, and that happened,” said a mid-level officer from the 1996 Wira Satya Akpol Battalion.
He further said that the incident involving a truck driver being robbed by the Polres Metro Jakarta Utara was an example of the police response on social media. The perpetrator of the robbery was arrested by the police after the incident went viral on social media.
“If you’ve ever heard a story about a thief on the toll road, the truck was on standby then someone approached him, he was scourged, his cell phone was taken, he left him, he didn’t report it to the police. We know it went viral. Those who told media friends, we will continue to follow up, we “checked the crime scene at night, positive energy too. We collected some data. One day, 4 people were arrested,” Kapolres Gidion explained.
According to him, now there has been a transformation in citizen reports to the police. Reports about suspected criminal incidents can also be obtained via social media.
“So what I want to convey is the transformation of people reporting to the police now. People don’t report the police but hope the police know what is happening to society,” he explained.
“If there is now a tagline no viral no justice, it is not because it has gone viral and then correlates with the sense of justice we present. But because it must be acknowledged that the media now makes it very possible for that to happen. And going viral also helps,” he said. Bembo
