This article states that the main task of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia is to maintain security and public order, enforce the law and provide protection, guidance and service to the community.

Meanwhile, its implementation is regulated in Article 14 paragraph (1) letter d of Law Number 2 of 2002. The article reads, “In carrying out the main tasks as intended in Article 13, the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia is tasked with participating in the development of national law.

He continued, the 2023 Special Education for the Advocate Profession (PKPA) was also held with the aim of improving the quality of Polri’s human resources in the legal field. This also includes unifying perceptions, providing understanding and training for all participants.

“The Legal Division of Polda Metro Jaya and Sikum Polres ranks play a role as bearers of legal functions at the Polda and regional levels. “Also acting as an advocate for the National Police to provide legal assistance within the National Police,” explained Kombes Pol Nurkholis.

Advocates carrying out legal functions, he continued, are very strategic and in line with the development of the legal needs of society, especially in relation to law enforcement carried out by the National Police.

For this reason, Kombes Pol Nurkholis continued, it is necessary for legal function bearers to study and understand advocacy activities in the judiciary related to the many lawsuits/petitions from the public which are testing every stage of law enforcement carried out by the National Police institution, especially Polda Metro Jaya. Be it civil, criminal, state administration or other legal claims.

“Considering the importance of the task and function of legal development, I appreciate the special educational training for the advocate profession because I am sure that through consistent training it will produce professional, modern and trustworthy human resources,” Kombes Pol Nurkholis said.

He also said that there are several things that legal counseling participants need to pay attention to. The first is to increase your faith and devotion to God Almighty so that you get the blessing and protection of Allah SWT in carrying out your duties.

Then considering that the challenges faced are increasingly difficult, especially now in the era of digital technology, all levels must be able to adapt to technological developments

Next, Kombes Pol Nurkholis also advised the participants to participate in this activity well until the end. If there is something that is not understood, it can be asked and discussed so that monitoring of the performance of Polri members will be better in the future.
