Also present were the Kabid Humas of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of the Information and Documentation Management Bureau, Head of the Multimedia Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division, Chair of the DKI Jakarta KPUD, Head of the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu, representatives from the Kodam Jaya, as well as Main Officials and Kapolres Metro Polda Metro Jaya and influencers.
The Anti-Hoax Declaration with the theme “Synergy of People, Safe Jakarta, Peaceful Elections for Progressive Indonesia #Must Be From Me”, is also part of the activities to welcome the 72nd Anniversary of National Police Public Relations which falls on October 30 2023.
Kabid Humas of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Trunoyudo, in his speech said, based on data, the population of 276.4 million social media users is dominated by those aged 18 to 44 years. And from 2018 to 2023, 41.1% of hoax issues regarding health, government, fraud and politics were also found.
Therefore, said Pol Kombes Trunoyudo, the role of the National Police as a stabilizer and dynamist is very much needed to create security and public order ahead of the 2024 elections. In this case, he continued, the National Police will certainly collaborate and synergize with activists and influencers to prevent the spread of hoax information and news.
“This anti-hoax declaration is part of the cooling system, namely the role of the National Police as a stabilizer and dynamist in realizing Kamtibmas, especially ahead of the elections,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Kapolda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol Karyoto in his speech hoped that the Anti-Hoax Declaration activity could be a trigger and motivate the public to fight hoax news to support the smooth running of the 2024 elections.
“I hope that this activity can trigger public motivation through the help of influencers and media crew to declare an anti-hoax statement against any information that smells like lies. “Wise people don’t believe in hoaxes, let’s work together to fight hoax news in order to maintain a safe and peaceful security and order situation at Polda Metro Jaya and support the smooth running of the 2024 elections,” explained Kapolda Karyoto.
Furthermore, Kapolda Karyoto also appealed to the entire public not to hesitate to report to the police if they find hoax news.
“I appeal to all people not to hesitate to report to the nearest police station if there is hoax news,” he emphasized. Bembo
