Jakarta – Combat expert general who graduated from the Special Forces Command (Kopassus), Lt. Gen. TNI I Nyoman Cantiasa, has left his old post as Pangkogabwilhan III for a week. The general who was born in Buleleng, Bali, now carries the mandate of the TNI Commander, Admiral TNI Yudo Margono as Coordinator of the Expert Staff of the Army Chief of Staff (Korsahli KASAD).
Judging from his post, the position he is currently holding at first glance looks lighter physically. However, this is not the case psychologically. As Korsahli, Cantiasa is fully responsible for making the KSAD expert staff team filled with two-star generals – Pangdam level – into a solid and brilliant team. That meaning, Cantiasa is definitely considered to have very capable and super special capabilities to occupy this position. And that is appropriate, also very appropriate.
Looking back at his career track record, this three-star Kopassus general has indeed been poor in various assignments. The winner of Adhi Makayasa, the best graduate of the 1990 Military Academy, even had an excellent record when he was assigned to reduce the prolonged conflict in Ambon, Maluku in 2001.
At that time, the Kopassus team, together with Marines and Paskhas in a joint task force of the Sector Command (Kosector)-1 succeeded in arresting rioters from civilians, ex-soldiers and police who had deserted. Those who were arrested previously carried out acts of terror in Ambon City.
In fact, every day there are reports of residents from the two communities complaining that their relatives have become victims of snipers. The joint team at the location also confiscated revolvers, FN 46 pistols, Colt 38, and various rifles such as AK 101, AK 102, Lee Enfield (LE), SKS, MK-1, MK-3, SS-1, M-16, SPR , US Carabine 30mm, Ruger mini, Mauser, rifles and improvised explosive devices accompanied by documents containing attack notes and attack plans.
It must be admitted, I Nyoman Cantiasa is actually a soldier with a long track record of fighting. And he recorded that with the Sat Gultor 81 Kopassus anti-terror squad. I Nyoman Cantiasa has also carried out military operations in a number of regions in Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua.
Apart from that, he also participated in the fighting in the conflict area of East Timor which is now Timor Leste. Not only an expert in war, I Nyoman Cantiasa has also proven to have expertise in a number of special fields. He has held various strategic positions such as Danrem 173/Praja Vira Braja, Kasdam XVII/Cenderawasih, Pa Sahli Tk. III Field of Polkamnas TNI Commander, Danjen Kopassus, Pangdam XVIII/Kasuari, to Pangkogabwilhan III.
Now, the war general who is known to be very friendly and down to earth is continuing his military duties as Koorsahli KASAD.
