Jakarta – General Chairman of the JW Movement, Jenderal (Ret.) Wiranto stated that the quick count victory of the presidential and vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabumi Raka in the 2024 presidential election was a victory for the Indonesian nation.
“I followed the results of the quick count calculations from afternoon to evening which placed the presidential and vice presidential candidates number two, Prabowo-Gibran, who received the most votes, exceeding 50 percent,” said Wiranto at the JW Movement Command Post, Jakarta Pusat, Wednesday, (14/2 ).
Regarding the quick count results, Wiranto also said, that these results were not yet official results. However, he continued, based on previous election experience, the results of the quick count carried out by professional staff will not be much different from the official count or real count announced by the General Election Commission (KPU).
“Thus, it is not surprising that the quick count results are considered proof of victory. So it is natural that Prabowo, as the number two candidate in the quick count, can provide something to declare his victory. Moreover, almost all provinces reported that the Prabowo-Gibran pair had won. In fact, in several places there was an absolute and overall win, the quick count results indicated a figure above 57 percent, in some cases it was 58 percent,” explained Wiranto.
According to him, if Prabowo-Gibran’s vote results reach more than 50 percent and half from the provinces, then the election will certainly run in one round.
“That means there is a winner. However, we are of course waiting for the real count results. For this reason, we hope that there will be an elegant attitude, waiting for the real count results without being colored by things that cause security disturbances,” said Wiranto.
Furthermore, Wiranto also hopes that, because there is already a winner in the presidential election, it is hoped that situations where there were previously differences of opinion can now return to harmony and maintain unity.
“Even though yesterday was marked by differences, now it is no longer necessary. It’s time for unity for the Indonesian nation,” he said again.
Wiranto said, that his party also felt very grateful because the democratic party, general elections, legislative elections, presidential elections and party elections throughout Indonesia had gone well. There were no security disturbances or incidents that caused disruption to the election.
For this reason, Wiranto continued, his party is very grateful to the entire Indonesian people, especially those who exercise their right to vote, because they have contributed to the five-year democratic process being able to run well, safely, orderly, and even be considered successful.
Not to forget, on this occasion Wiranto also expressed his appreciation to KPU and KPUD officers throughout Indonesia who had carried out the elections well and smoothly without any security and health problems like five years ago.
“We pray that they can do a good job without anything happening. We also hope that the international community will appreciate that this year’s general election process will take place democratically,” he explained.
Not to forget, appreciation was also given to all members of the JW Movement throughout Indonesia who had contributed to the victory of the Prabowo-Gibran pair.
