Jakarta – Anti-corruption activist and political observer from the Non-Governmental Organization People’s Communication Forum for Transparency (NGO FORSI), Berman Nainggolan Lumbanraja, gave his predictions regarding the 2024 elections. He said that one big surprise would occur at this nation’s 5th annual democratic party.
The big surprise he meant was party number 10 being the dominant orange; Hanura Party. As is well known, in the upcoming 2024 election, the Hanura Party is firmly determined to rise and set high targets.
To qualify for Senayan, Hanura is targeting to get at least 4 percent of the parliamentary threshold. Then from each electoral area (dapil), Hanura is also determined to be able to send at least one representative.
Berman said, it is only natural for the Hanura Party to set high targets in the 2024 Election. This is because the party commanded by Oesman Sapta Odang alias OSO wants the 2024 Election to be the turning point for their revival.
“The Hanura Party slumped and almost sank in the 2019 Election. They lost 3.72 percent of their votes from 5.26 percent in the 2014 Election to 1.54 percent in the 2019 Election. For some parties, the determination and targets set by Hanura seem elusive and impossible to achieve. However, continued Berman, there is one thing that has been forgotten but that would instead be the Hanura turbo engine to capture a lot of voters’ votes. What’s that?
“The emotional closeness between President Jokowi and Oesman Sapta as general chairman of Hanura. Apart from that, Hanura’s partnership as a party supporting Jokowi is also very close. The strong effects of these two things, to be honest, I am very sure in my heart, will be Hanura’s turbo engine to soar upwards. In fact it’s not impossible to get to the top five position,” explained Berman.
Apart from that, he continued, Hanura’s current internal condition is much more solid than in 2019. Millennials as new voters have also been conceptualized well in advance for recruiting.
“The Hanura Party is the big surprise that I predicted, at the same time I also believe that it will become the main actor in the 2024 Election frame,” Berman said.
