Jakarta – The former chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who is a suspect in the extortion and gratification case of the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), Firli Bahuri seems to have no shame and no self-awareness.
Having lost badly in the first pretrial hearing with the reported Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Karyoto, now Firli has again filed a lawsuit in the second pretrial trial with the reported respondent also the Kapolda Karyoto. The lawsuit was also filed again at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel).
Responding to Firli’s ‘face to the wall’ behavior, Polda Metro Jaya stated that he was very ready to ‘duel’ with Firli again in pre-trial.
“Again, we emphasize that investigators are optimistic that the court will again reject the pre-trial lawsuit of suspect FB or his attorney,” emphasized the Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak, last Tuesday, (23/1).
“The investigator’s determination of suspect status for FB’s brother was based on a minimum of two valid pieces of evidence, even in the a quo case handling, the determination of FB as a suspect was based on more than two pieces of legal evidence,” he added.
He said that all legal processes had been carried out transparently in order to resolve corruption cases. In this case, the extortion case was carried out by Firli Bahuri against SYL.
“And again, I emphasize and ensure that the investigative efforts that have been carried out by the joint investigation team of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya and the Dittipidkor Bareskrim Polri who are handling the a quo case have been carried out professionally, transparently and accountably.
