Jakarta – The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) Polda Metro Jaya (PMJ) has proposed that during the ASEAN Summit on September 5-7 2023, sterilization will be applied to prohibit heavy vehicles from entering the Inner City Toll Road. The Traffic Directorate has coordinated with the DKI Transportation Agency so that a circular letter is issued immediately.
The proposal is intended so that the Inner City Toll Road for 2X24 hours during the implementation of the Summit is sterile from heavy vehicles.
“We will coordinate with the Department of Transportation so that on September 5 and 6, especially heavy vehicles 2×24 hours will not enter the Inner City Toll Road,” said Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Latif told reporters, Wednesday, (23/8).
According to Kombes Pol Latif, this proposal needs to be submitted as an initial socialization before there is a circular letter. Because, on the 5th, 6th, 7th is the peak of the activities of the ASEAN Summit.
It is hoped that at that time the Inner City Toll Road will be free of heavy vehicles for 2×24 hours. On the other hand, heavy vehicles are still allowed to use the north and south Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR).
Kombes Pol Latif hopes that all parties can understand this situation for the successful holding of the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta. Heavy vehicles can still operate via JORR on the north and south rings.
“It’s a bit long, but only 2×24 hours. Hopefully we can understand together for the success of this big celebration, “he said.
Meanwhile, Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo said the banning was the authority of the Ministry of Transportation. Syafrin said, the banning discourse is still in the further discussion stage.
“We will communicate and coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation. We will discuss this proposal further,” he said.
According to Syafrin, his party will write to the Director General of Transportation so that the proposal can be discussed first.
“This is just a suggestion from Pak Dirlantas. I will write to the Director General of Transportation,” he said again. Bembo
