Jakarta – The General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya has stopped investigating the alleged domestic violence (KDRT) case that was reported by her husband, Bani Idham Bayumi, against his wife, Putri Balqis. The investigation process was stopped because no strong evidence was obtained.
“Regarding the Depok domestic violence case, we have stopped the husband’s report on his wife. (The reason it was stopped) was not enough evidence,” said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi in his statement, Wednesday, (9/8).
As is known, Bani Idham Bayumi and his wife, Putri Balqis, reported domestic violence to the police. Both were suspects.
This case was initially handled by the Polres Metro Depok. However, after Kapolda Metro Jaya Inspector General Pol Karyoto paid attention, the handling of this case was withdrawn to Polda Metro Jaya.
Polda Metro Jaya also arrested Bani Idham Bayumi on Putri Balqis’ report. Bani was arrested by Bani on Tuesday, 4 July 2023.
“There has been an arrest and detention for acts of domestic physical violence against his wife which were carried out continuously as referred to in Article 44 paragraph 1 UURI No 23 of 2004 concerning PKDRT with a maximum penalty of 5 (five) years in prison in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code,” said Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi at that time.
