Jakarta – The Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya specified 44 people as suspects in gambling cases out of 60 people arrested on Jalan Dwiwarna, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta. Another 16 people were released.
“After examining the 60 people who were arrested, 44 people were made suspects,” said Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday, (16/6).
Hengki said, of the 44 people who had been named suspects, two of them played the role of organizers or owners of gambling venues. They are F alias A as organizer boss and SS alias S as organizer coordinator.
Furthermore, five more suspects served as security. Then five people were in charge of the paikyu gambling game, three people were in charge of the tasiau gambling game, seven were paikyu gambling players, and 22 tasiau gambling players.
“F provided a place, tools and equipment for gambling games and employed 14 people to organize the gambling,” Kombes Pol Hengki Haryadi said.
Not only that, he continued, F through his employees also collected money from paikyu and tasiau gambling players in every game round. The money is used as a livelihood and profit for gambling organizers.
“The evidence we have confiscated is a paikyu gambling board, a paikyu domino set, a box and Rp. 35 million in cash, a tasiau game booth, and a set of dice,” explained the jasmine officer who graduated from the 1996 Wira Satya Police Battalion.
In this case, the suspects were subject to Article 303 of the Criminal Code which carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. Bembo
